A crash occurred on Saturday afternoon around 1pm, injuring 9 people. Two vehicles being driven by unlicensed drivers collided along FM 812, just south of the airport.

Nine people were injured in the collision, including four young children who may or may not have been in car seats. Another victim was presumed dead when EMS arrived on the scene, but was soon intubated and taken to the hospital.

An accident occurred early Saturday morning when a pickup truck lost control on Anderson Mill Rd. The truck was westbound near Centennial Trail when the accident happened.

The driver was taken to Brackenridge Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The passenger was uninjured in the crash. Police suspect alcohol was a contributing factor to the crash.

Captain Michael Fontana, a 35 year-old nurse working at Wilford Hall Medical Center, has been tied to at least three recent deaths involving the overmedication of terminally ill patients.

Charged by Air Force investigators on Monday with the murder of patients under his care, Fontana is suspected of both injecting patients with a lethal combination of pain-killers and anti-anxiety drugs and with altering medical records. Although he could not be reached for comment, a message on his Facebook page posted some time last week professed his innocence, claiming that he was the wrongful target of a "Civilian's false accusation."

Although the charges concern deaths at a San Antonio military base, Fontata has also worked as a paramedic for Austin-Travis County EMS and at local hospitals.

A crash occurred on Monday afternoon along Highway 71 near Highway 183. As a woman was pulling out of a parking lot onto Highway 71, another car hit hers.

The woman in the car pulling out of the parking lot was taken to Brackenridge Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The other driver sustained non life threatening injuries.

An accident occurred Sunday night on FM 812 just west of Creedmoor Rd. An SUV was travelling westbound on FM 812 when it went off the road and rolled over.

The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and the passenger was killed in the accident. No one else was injured or involved in the accident.

Two women were injured in a ceiling collapse at Luby's on Saturday. A section of suspended ceiling, upper ceiling and some light fixtures fell in an area where food was being served. No one was directly hit.

One worker and one patron were injured in the lunchtime collapse. They were both transported to the hospital. None of the other 37 people in the building were injured. The restaurant was closed down for the rest of the day.
