Toyota Motor Corporation announced two weeks ago that it will replace gas pedals on nearly 3.8 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The recall was meant to fix a problem with the floor mats and gas pedals, in which some gas pedals were reportedly getting stuck on the floor mats.
If a gas pedal gets stuck on a floor mat, then a car may accelerate unintentionally. When this occurs, many drivers will panic. However, they should stay calm and attempt to free the pedal from the floor mat.
Also, drivers should try to apply the brake or the emergency brake to avoid any accidents. If you have been injured in an accident with a driver who lost control of his or her car, contact the Austin reckless car accident attorneys of Vic Feazell at 877-948-4842.
