A man who lost part of his leg in a boat accident was awarded $3.8 million. According to court reports, a jury determined that the boat manufacturer was partiallly liable for the accident.
The accident apparently occurred when the man was trying to grab a tow line. While the man was in the water, the driver put the boat in reverse, and the man's leg got caught in the propeller. The boat manufacturer was held partially liable because the propeller did not have proper safety devices.
