An Austin man had to be extricated from a Nissan Sentra after it collided with a Jeep Cherokee Wednesday. 20-year-old Nicholas Hummel-Pirmantgen, the passenger in the Sentra, was then taken to the Austin Medical Center where he was treated for injuries sustained during the accident. The wreck occurred on Eight Avenue and Seventh Street at approximately 3:30 p.m. The driver of the Sentra, 18-year-old Lance Eastman did not yield to the Jeep as he turned left onto Seventh Street. The Cherokee driver, who was headed east on Eighth Avenue, collided with the passenger side of the Sentra.
The drivers of both vehicles were not injured. Hummel-Pirmantgen remains in stable condition at the medical center. The degree of his injuries has not been released to the public but he is expected to recover.
