Kellogg's company, under advisement by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, issued a voluntary recall of four of their cereal products on June 29, 2010.
The products being taken off store shelves are Kellogg's Froot Loops, Honey Smacks, Corn Pops, and Apple Jacks. Kellogg's became concerned after reports that the products had an uncharacteristic smell and flavor coming from the liner of the packaging. While Kellogg's believes any risk associated with these products is very small, they advise people who have purchased a product before June 29th to refrain from eating it.
Foster's Food Fair IGA stated, "Until further correspondence from the manufacturer on this affected product, moving forward, it will not be available".
