A Department of Public Safety trooper is missing following a boating accident. According to police reports, the boating accident apparently occurred on Lake Travis in Austin.
The trooper was reported missing by his wife when she found his boat washed ashore. Authorities are currently searching for the man.

A 25-year-old man driving a boat on Lake Austin crashed it into another boat on Saturday. Cody Daniel Painter was arrested by police and faces a third-degree felony charge of intoxication assault.
The boat that Painter's boat hit was stopped near Harper Island Cove to change inner tubes. The crash involved 17 people on the two boats and injured three of the passengers. One of the passengers, a child, was in serious medical condition Saturday night, according to reports by medical officials.
