In January, a Texarkana family filed suit against two physicians and the Christus St. Michael Healthcare System for delayed treatment of their deceased daughter. 20-year old Lisa Morphew went into the medical center and saw the defendants, Dr. James Urbina and Dr. Christopher Lux, in May 2010 when she began to exhibit the symptoms of a stroke. The doctors failed to notice or treat the symptoms in a timely manner and Morphew passed away on May 25th.
According to the medical malpractice lawsuit filed in the Eastern District of Texas, the two physicians provided substandard care to the patient. Once the two realized that she had suffered a stroke, they failed to seek out proper neurological aid. They are being accused of delayed treatment and fatal negligence.
