Who is liable if a construction worker is injured in a traffic accident?
Posted on Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 at 5:00 am
Every day construction workers repair problems with roads and highways. When this repair is occurring, the roads and highways are usually marked with cones and other traffic markers.
These markers are meant to keep construction workers safe. However, because traffic typically still occurs while roads are being repaired, there is a chance that traffic construction workers could be injured by moving traffic.
When these accidents occur, the driver or the construction company may be liable. The liability often depends on the facts and circumstances of the case.
If the driver ignores the traffic markers and this leads to the accident, then the driver may be liable. On the other hand, if the driver follows the markers and the markers are misplaced, then the construction company may be liable.

Is it more dangerous to talk or text while driving?
Posted on Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 at 4:47 am
Many drivers on the road frequently talk or text while driving. As some studies have suggested, drivers who text while driving put not only themselves or other drivers at risk.
By texting while driving, drivers often become distracted and do give their full attention to the road. When this occurs, the chance of a traffic accident usually increases.
While many people understand the risks of texting while driving, some do not understand the similar risks of talking while driving. When drivers talk on the cell phone, they are able to pay attention to the road, but they are not able to give their full attention to the road.
If you or anyone you know has been injured in a car accident with drivers who text or talk on the cell phone, contact the Austin car accident lawyers of Vic Feazell, P.C., at 877-948-4842.

The inherent dangers of electrical appliances
Posted on Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 at 4:28 am
While electrical appliances are helpful around the house, they pose a risk to all family members. The risk is inherent in the design and energy source for the appliances.
Manufacturers of electrical companies go to great lengths to install safety devices that minimize the risk of electrocution. However, some products are badly designed or may be damaged through wear and tear. When this occurs, people handling these faulty appliances stand a greater chance of being electrocuted.
In some cases, electrical appliance eletrocutions are not caused by the electrical appliances themselves. In some cases, people are electrocuted because they do not practice enough precaution when plugging in the appliance and are electrocuted when they come in contact with the outlet.
