A man from Austin was killed in a construction accident last Thursday. According to police reports, the accident occurred at a construction site in Georgetown.
The man apparently was crushed between a building wall and a forklift. When medical officials arrived, they attempted to resuscitate the man, but he was later declared dead at the scene of the accident.

A contract worker died in an industrial accident Monday. According to police reports, the accident occurred at the Motiva Enterprises LLC refinery in Port Arthur.
While details of what caused the accident were not released, the accident occurred near a $7 billion expansion project to double the refinery's capacity. The individual who died was a contrac worker for the refinery.

Austin teenager killed in single vehicle accident

An Austin woman was killed in a car accident Sunday. According to police reports, the accident occurred on U.S. Highway 290.
The driver of one car apparently fell asleep behind the wheel, causing the vehicle to turn onto the shoulder and hit a van on the side of the road.
After hitting the van, the car turned over and came to rest on the side of the road. When medical officials arrived to the scene, the driver and three passengers were taken to a nearby hospital, where one of the passengers was later pronounced dead.

A Spring Branch man was injured, and a San Antonio woman was killed in a car accident Friday. According to police reports, the accident occurred near Bulverde.
The woman's car was apparently hit by both two different pickup trucks. The accident caused the woman to be ejected from the vehicle. When medical officials arrived, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while one of the pickup drivers was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Two children killed in car accident near Natalia

The driver apparently lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle then hit a curve and a utility pole before crashing into a tree. The accident was Austin's 12th fatal car accident this year.

One person died in an Austin, TX car accident Monday. According to police reports, the accident occurred at FM 2222 near Mt. Bonnell Road.

Three children die in Bastrop County accident Sunday

Three children died in a Bastrop County accident Sunday. According to police reports, the accidents occurred at the highway intersection of State Highway 21 and U.S. Highway 290.
The children were riding in a car that failed to yield the right of way and was then hit by another vehicle. The three children apparently were not wearing seatbelts, and the other drivers and passengers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Austin IRS building hit by plane

An Austin building housing the IRS was hit by a plane last week. The plane was flown by a man named Andrew Joseph Stack who apparently crashed the plane as a terrorist act. The crash resulted in significant damage to the building and the deaths of the pilot and one of the building's occupants.
Before crashing the plane, Stack left a note online describing his reasons for the intentional crash. Along with the note, it was later discovered that Stack had financial and marital problems.

Man convicted of manslaughter for January 2009 car accident

A man was convicted of manslaughter for a January 2009 accident. The man was apparently driving at speeds above 100 miles per hour when his car hit a van.
Five people in the van were killed in the accident. The man was also convicted of sexual assault in an Oklahoma court.
